Embracing the Alchemy: UX Design’s Role in a Market Research Technology

Last month, Taylor Swift dropped two albums. In one song, she sings, ‘Who are we to fight the alchemy?’ And you know what? She’s definitely on to something.  

When I first began my journey with OpinionRoute, I was shocked by the difficult processes that many industry companies use. Project managers meander between tools and sift through pages in search of elusive notes. Meanwhile, emails continue to pile up. Every day feels like a grind and a just a little bit under-resourced.   

In my role at OpinionRoute, it’s my responsibility to create great experiences for clients through our technology. So, in some sense, it was easy to identify how things could improve. But I also had to listen to the clients to understand fully the value of the “common substances”, existing ways of working or process steps.  


What is UX Design?  

User Experience (UX) design is the art of crafting digital experiences that resonate with users on a profound level. It’s about understanding the needs, desires, and behaviors of users, and then using that knowledge to create product experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and easy to use.  

In a way, UX designers are like modern alchemists, transforming raw data and user feedback into valuable insights. By using creativity, empathy, and technical knowledge, UX designers have the power to transform poor or ordinary digital interactions into something greater.  

Clearly, this is completely aligned with the entire industry we support.  

Successfully managing UX Design involves balancing the relentless pursuit of user advocacy with the necessity of achieving business goals.  

With my distinct user community, I receive the gift of rapid feedback. I utilize this feedback in our agile product development process to ensure our solutions resonate across our various user bases, driving organizational success.  


Alchemizing Outdated Processes  

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re a self-proclaimed ‘Excel wizard,’ right? Do you have a notebook nearby, 100 browser tabs opened, or perhaps an overflowing email inbox? We understand the struggle, and we are here to help alleviate the nuances in these outdated workflows in our industry.

We commonly hear things like “you’ve built a beautiful system”.  Or other sentiments like “this is way better than anything I’ve ever seen.”  To us, that’s a constant proof point that validates the process UX Design embraces.  One that’s extremely similar to MRX when you think about it.
